St. John’s Food for the Poor Program fundraising events serve a dual purpose of raising funds and raising awareness of the needy and homeless people of Worcester.
Annually held events include:
Winter Coat & Boot Drive
St. Francis Xavier Center, 20 Temple Street. Bring new and gently used winter coats and boots.
St. John's Food for the Poor Thanksgiving Take-Home Boxes

John McDermott's Holiday Concert
St. John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester, MA. John McDermott, tenor, pledges continued support for St. John’s Food for the Poor Program. 100% of all proceeds go directly to St. John’s Food for the Poor Program. Bravehearts Baseball Game
Hanover Insurance Park, College of the Holy Cross, 1 College St, Worcester, MA. The Bravehearts are the reigning champions of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). Enjoy great baseball, minor-league-style, and a memorable family experience in a lovely ball park.
Annual WALK for the Homeless
Elm Park, Worcester. Join in with over 1,500 community members to demonstrate a community commitment to ending family homelessness. Your participation will help 350 families maintain safe and stable housing, and will assist over 1,000 additional people who need access to safe shelter, nutritious meals, and the household goods to move beyond homelessness.
